Management and accountability

The Agency’s relationship with the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development (DARD), and its accountability to Ministers and the Northern Ireland Assembly, are set out in a Framework Document.  The Chief Executive is responsible to the Minister for the operations of Rivers Agency and its performance.  The Minister determines the policy framework within which the Agency operates, the level of resources made available each year and the scope of its activities. The Minister also approves the Agency’s Business Plan, sets key performance targets and monitors its performance.
