Overflowing rivers and watercourses - contact Rivers Agency
If flooding is caused by overflowing rivers and watercourses Rivers Agency should be contacted. The Agency will aim to:
- Dispatch staff and equipment as soon as possible (Response time will depend on the number of simultaneous incidents);
- Arrange the appropriate inspection and action;
- Help minimise the damage to businesses and properties;
- Advise the public on what to do, and when assistance can be expected; and
- Attend 80% of watercourse related flooding incidents within 3 hours of receiving the call;
We will also provide advice on the appropriate Service/Agency to contact if the incident is not river or watercourse related.
