Rivers Conservation
The increasing importance of conservation issues and, in particular, the requirements of recent legislation and strategies have a direct impact on the work of the Agency. Environmentally sensitive practices are required when carrying out work on all rivers. Departmental commitments on conserving the natural environment demand special attention to watercourses that provide habitat for rare species, or are most susceptible to the effects of works operations.
