Realignment of the channel
This measure involves introducing bends, meanders and backwater ponds into the previously straightened channel. Some possible benefits are:
- Enhancing the river landscape;
- Creating a variety of flows along the channel for the benefit of fish and wildlife;
- Encouraging a variey of insects and birds.
